Well this year is a wrap for us. 2019 has been a milestone year for this company, our product range has reached new levels of diversity and we’re involved with great projects and people the world over. Recently we reached the day that marked the 10 year anniversary of Peter Holinger’s passing, so in reflecting on the last 10 years, whilst we’ve had some downs, there have been plenty of ups and we hope he’d be proud of what we’ve achieved in the last decade, continuing on the way he would want. Many of us worked under Pete, learning a great deal from him, his legacy is definitely a lasting one. We will note he’d probably cringe at this post and social media in general, but he deserves to be remembered and acknowledged. We’d like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Stay safe and have fun!

The other Classic Rally held last weekend was the Killarney Historic Rally in Ireland. We couldn't be better represented than by Viking Motorsport and Craig Breen. Check out the in-car:

A couple of great Classic Rally's were held last weekend on opposite ends of the globe, locally the Alpine Rally in Victoria where we had more than 15 gearboxes, 5 different types, competing in a wide range of cars. It always nice to be well represented in events like this.

Well the 2nd S5000 event has been run and won. Busy times ahead for us now to manufacture parts in readiness for the full season in 2020, kicking off at the AGP in March. Time to crack on!

A huge congratulations must go to Brabham Automotive after their highly successful debut race last weekend. We’re enormously proud to have supplied them with a bespoke version of our MFT Transaxle for use in this car. Whilst of course it’s always fantastic to be involved with any project of such a high-calibre and with such a famous name attached, this is particularly special for Holinger Engineering, as this company may not have existed without Brabham. Peter Holinger and David Nash, the fathers of current Holinger directors John and Leigh respectively, got their start in Motorsport working for Repco-Brabham, being part of the design and manufacturing team responsible for delivering the little engine from Down-Under to the Brabham F1 team in the 60’s. The Repco V8 powered Sir Jack to win the 1966 Formula One World Championship, famously the only driver to do so in a car bearing his own name. Peter Holinger founded Holinger Engineering to produce parts for this engine and even used one in his own cars, winning 3 Australian Hill-Climb championships with Repco-Brabham power. So for us to be once again involved with the Brabham name, some 50 years later, is very special and something we’re sure Pete would be proud of. On the technical side of things: what a car the Brabham BT62 is! It’s a great testament to what we can do in Australia, our engineering abilities are truly world class but they are sometimes over-looked or maybe dismissed when they shouldn’t be. Like the old Repco engines, it’s great to see that these cars being built here and we couldn’t be happier to be supplying the project. This is a real Aussie, World-Class-Supercar. A powerful V8 Engine, coupled to a light-weight but super-sturdy transmission, with a no-nonsense layout……. More wins will be in the cars future we're sure. #MFT #Australianmanufacturing #Brabham #BT62

We just finished a special version of the MXT today. This is an "upside down" version of our regular Porsche installation, to suit a 997 GT3 RSR, placing the Output above the Input, allowing the car to run very low ride heights. As you can see the Bellhousing is machined from Billet Aluminium. Whilst not the largest or most complicated part we've produced, it still required a huge effort to design and manufacture, so is extremely satisfying to see on the finished Transaxle.

This is what happens when you run a gearbox without oil. What this part started life as is on the right........ Please make sure your gearbox, what ever the brand, has oil in it before you run it. #gearcruelty.

Well the first weekends racing of S5000 has been run and won. Whilst we all can agree it's unfortunate the feature race was cut short after Davisons accident, it's great to see that Alex could walk away, a great testament to all the hard work that has been put into the safety of these cars. It's been a long road to get here and we're very proud to have been involved in this project from the start. The cars look great and are spectacular to watch, as was the dream. This is only the beginning....... A huge thanks must go to everyone involved in this project. Chris Lambden, Mike Borland from Borland Racing Developments Pty Ltd, Garry Rogers Motorsport and InnoV8 Race Engines, just to name a few. We're also really happy to have helped Tim Macrow get onto the grid for this really special debut event. I know it's not the result you wanted, but you were having a go, giving it your all and that's what we wanna see!
